Custody

A number you can put in a budget and leave there

One fixed monthly subscription. No overage charges, no percentage of assets, no per-transaction fees. The entry tier is published below; above it the figure depends on your configuration and tier, so we quote it after one conversation, but the shape of it never changes.

01 The model

One subscription,
one amount

You pay the same amount every month. Not a base rate plus something for volume, not a tariff plus transaction commissions, not a percentage of assets under custody. One amount. Subscription tiers reflect the level of included activity, so the price follows how much you use the platform, not how much you hold on it.

An institution has to plan its costs and model them under stress. An invoice that depends on activity grows in a volatile month, exactly when everything else is off plan too. A variable price correlates with bad scenarios, and that is no longer an accounting inconvenience but an operational risk that has to be written into the risk register. A fixed amount removes that line from the document.

Your invoice Months 1 to 12

The same amount every month, within the tier you have chosen. No overage, no percentage of assets, no per-transaction fees.

These are the limits of the entry tier on SaaS. Higher activity, or more workspaces, users or wallets, moves you to the next tier.

03Commitments

Three commitments,
checked in thirty seconds

These are not discounts. They are commitments to predictability, equally legible to a chief financial officer and a chief operating officer, and they are honoured now rather than promised for later.

  1. 01

    A fixed monthly invoice

Only fixed monthly invoices, with no overage charges.

The invoice is the same every month, within the tier you have chosen. Activity moves with the market; the invoice does not.

  2. 02

A tier review instead of a penalty

A customer exceeding the included activity threshold for two consecutive months will be reviewed and, if appropriate, upgraded to the next subscription tier, instead of being charged unpredictable overage invoices.

The threshold is two consecutive months, not one, because digital-asset markets move in bursts. One month of sharply higher volume is the state of the market, not a change in your business, and punishing it with an invoice makes no sense. Two months in a row is a different usage profile, and at that point a conversation about the tier is honest on both sides.

  3. 03

    A cap on renewal

The monthly subscription fee remains fixed throughout the agreement term. Upon renewal, The Vault may adjust pricing by up to 5%, provided the customer remains within the same subscription tier. Any increase above 5% applies only if the customer upgrades to a higher subscription tier, or where both parties mutually agree to modify the scope of services.

Renewal is the point in any infrastructure relationship where the customer's negotiating position is weakest: by then you are integrated, trained and dependent. We are stating in advance, before the first agreement is signed, that we will not use that position.

We do not earn on it being hard to leave. Not on volume spikes, not on overage, not on renewal. We earn on the subscription, and it is built so that you can price it three years ahead.

04 By configuration

The shape of the cost,
per deployment

The commitments above describe the SaaS subscription. The shape of the cost changes with the configuration, and the deployment page covers the trade in full.

05Your number

One conversation,
one figure

To quote, we need three things: which configuration you are starting in, the level of activity you expect, and the scope of services you need. That is one conversation, and you leave it with a figure you can put in next year’s budget.
